Blog Post #4: Getting Those Angles!

Hey there!

*CLICK*

Today, I'll be showing examples of three different camera angles:

-High angle

-Low angle

-Canted angle

High Angle:

High angle shots is a technique where the camera is pointed down on the subject above. It's said to be used to make the subject appear vulnerable. However, I sometimes use this technique to capture my background & to include those in the photo because this angle is very inclusive.

Low Angle:

Low angles are used below to capture the subject up in their direction. In the first photo, the photographer went down the steps in order to capture the image I was looking for. It contrasts the high angle shot due to the fact that, it allows the subject to appear powerful instead of vulnerable.

CANTED ANGLE:

This angle is also known as the dutch tilt or the oblique angle & it involves the camera being tilted so that the vertical lines are met in the corners of the photo. Also, in cinematography it's used to demonstrate trauma & tension. But, I add it onto my photos because why not be creative?

OVERVIEW

Overtime, the camera has shown innovation throughout history. Whether it's a selfie with family & friends or even an accidental photo, the camera is meant to create lasting memories to look upon in the future.
