Blog Post #9: Analyzing House Style Reflection 2

Welcome back to my blog! Today I'll be analyzing another magazine's house style.

House Style:


House style/ cover page:

The model is Harry Styles & he is an English singer. The camera shot is a mid-shot & it captures the upper half of Harry's body. Also, the color scheme is predominately black with a splash of white & blue. Harry is seen standing in front of the word 'VOGUE' in a dress which fights against social norms. He's seen blowing air into a balloon which leads me to believe that this is meant to be an upbeat & bright photoshoot. Also, the target audience is said to be for teens & young adults (early- late 20's) due to Harry's fan base mostly being teenagers.

   

Table of contents:

Unfortunately, I was unable to find the original table of contents from Harry's 'VOGUE' magazine. However, I used an old content from a 2015 issue. Here, it shows two women: one leaning against a bookcase & another sitting in a chair. Also, it has the page numbers listed beside mini sentences. Overall, this table of contents is very classy & sophisticated.

Feature Story:




The feature story is about the life of Harry Styles & how he has grown to be an important figure in so many lives. He has not only reached people through his music but, he also let it be known that you don't always have to follow social norms. Harry is a man that is comfortable with his sexuality & he goes into depth about how he navigates through the world despite negative critics. Overall, this feature story is amazing & it's great that Harry is speaking on embracing your sexuality & sense of style.

My magazine follows the basic conventional Rules and Guidelines of a standard magazine, amongst other things it includes a masthead, a tagline, a coverline, a cover image, a barcode, an issue number and date.
