Blog Post #37: Why Are Accessories the Best Sidekick?

 Hey there!

In today's blog, I'll be explaining why accessories are a great addition to an outfit & how it contributes to a photograph. Jewelry such as chains or earrings are often used but, I hope to shed light upon other essential accessories.

 Sunglasses

Sunglasses are one of the top considered accessories & this is because it creates a bold statement. When used for a photograph, sunglasses are there to set the tone/mood for the outfit; which is why it's often implemented & is very effective during a photoshoot.

How to pose with sunglasses:
  • Touch the sides of the frame ( either one hand or both.)
  • Positioned on top of head.
  • Lowered onto the bridge of the nose.
  • Shoot glasses away from face.

 Handbags

Another accessory that is oftentimes applied to a photograph is...handbags! Handbags are useful because they're a great distraction if someone isn't comfortable with posing. It helps you to get into the swing of things & you'll begin to feel confident. Whether it's a tote bag or shoulder bag, these are a great addition because there are many poses that you can do!

Handbag poses include:
  • Crook in elbow.
  • In front of body.
  • Thrown over shoulder.
  • Low hanging position.
  • Strap held with fingertips.

There are other accessories that can be considered useful for a photograph. Once you figure out how it fits into your outfit, then everything will start to come together.

Thank you & see you in the next blog!
