In this blog, I'll be addressing why I decided to produce my magazine as an individual & not a team.





When working in a group, you get to see how everyone thinks & you learn about one another. However, I want to get the experience of producing quality content on my own. From the color palettes to graphics, 'Girly Co.' will allow me to explore all of those things to find the perfect aesthetic for the magazine. Another thing is, 'Girly Co.' is from my creative imagination & it's a reflection of my style which fueled my decision to solely create this magazine.

Today I'll be revealing my official magazine for "Girly Co."                                                                                   Enjoy! I like how every part of the magazine compliment each other all around. I can see the improvement from my preliminary task. In the beginning, I wasn't as meticulous as I am now with my production. From color schemes to photography, my editing skills has enhanced over the course of this process. Also, I'm satisfied with the layout of 'Girly Co.' This is for my AICE Media studies Cambridge AS level course.  Compulsory question 1 asks 'How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issue?' My magazine follows the basic conventional Rules and Guidelines of a standard magazine, amongst other things it includes a masthead, a tagline, a coverline, a cover image, a barcode, an issue number and date. In order to gain inspiration for my magazine, I followed the example of various fashion magazines that inspired me such as Vogue, Teen Vogue & Essence.       For the cover page conventions, the first thing you notice is the masthead, the masthead is the title of the magazine & it is also in the biggest font with the sole purpose of standing out. And we're back! Hey guys, today I'll be researching about the history of magazines. Whether it's a tattoo magazine, fashion magazine, rap magazine or even a cooking magazine, it'll always appeal to a specific audience. With that being said, I decided to base my magazine off of fashion magazines. Fashion has been around for centuries & has been innovative throughout history. In 1867, Harper's Bazaar became the first fashion magazine to debut & it included everything from casual to couture. This paved the way for other successful establishments such as 'Vogue', 'Essence', 'Elle' & many more. These magazines are important due to its contribution to the fashion industry. It keeps society up to date with the current trends that are occurring in the world & helps people to decide what style suits them best. What's so amazing about fashion is that, it never goes out of style because it's what you make it.
