Blog Post #5: Using Camera Shots
Welcome back to my blog! In this post, I'll be reviewing the six different camera shots which are:
-Establishing shot
-Close up
-Two shot
-Long shot
-Over the shoulder shot
-Point of view shot
ESTABLISHING SHOT
The establishing shot is used to show the scenery or environment that's taking place. As you can see, these shots were taken in the beautiful city of New York. Also, I implemented the high, low & dutch tilt angles.
CLOSE UP
The close up shot is when the face covers majority of the screen. Capturing the person's emotions & feelings in that exact moment. For instance, the emotions that are being shown in these photos are excitement!
TWO SHOT
The two shot is when two people are together in the same frame. This shows the visual interaction between the two subjects.
LONG SHOT
The long shot is when the person/character has their full body clearly in the frame. This camera shot allows not only the person but, the scenery background to be included also.
OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT
An over the shoulder shot is also known as a third person shot or an OTS. It's when the camera is facing one character from a position that's behind another person.
POINT OF VIEW SHOT
Point of view shot is intended to show what someone is looking at in that moment. It is usually established by being positioned between a shot of a character looking in the direction of something & it shows the emotions that the subject is facing at the time.
